The 17343 Series Fire/Overheat Detectors are a normally open(N/O) device that helps to monitor fire and overheat conditions. It can be used in locations with high ambient temperatures and harsh enviromental conditons, like: gas turbine applications. The detector is made from welded stainless steel and is completely sealed. It is not repairable and cannot be disassembled. The detector is factory set to a specific alarm temperature when it is made. The alarmtemperature cannot be adjusted. The detector electrically connects to its related equipment through two terminals with internal threads. Stainless steel screws connected to the wiring from the related equipment to  two terminals. The detector can be connected to the monitored area by 3/4″-14 NPT (National Pipe Thread) thread located on the head of the detector. The alarm temperature setting of the detector is marked on the side of the hex body.

Considering its basic operation, it works the same like the Fenwal Detect-a-Fire® detectors.

Special Detector 17343-113 and 17343-78 Series are available with factory set temperatures, even with 510 °C / 950 °F. Contact us for more information.
